Storytelling is very important part of learning any language: it is funnier and memorable when the messages are conveyed through a story.
Learning English is not an exception: lots of new words are easily acquired because repetition is typical of storytelling. In addition, young learners often articulate words or mime the actions together with the storyteller.
Children love listening to the same stories over and over again; they are made into puppet shows or we use little dolls and props to set the scenes. Kids also love acting them out!
Taking the story home with their teacher’s voice is another way of linking the world of classroom and home.
